These
were a recent barn find, a mix and match pile of scout parts found just as you
see them, and YES, most of which need work. Ideal to make one good scout with
perhaps a spare engine, and sell off the other fame and balance of spares
to offset the restoration on the first.
Some of the hard to get and expensive items like magneto and carbs etc are
there.
With the supply of 101 Scouts disappearing, their predecessor, the short frame
scouts are increasing rapidly in price, making a good investment, I saw a
restored one asking 20,000US on ebay a while back.. I will provide copies of
parts and riders manuals and any other 'gems I might find in the meantime.
I can be contacted to supply any parts that are missing or beyond repair (though
nothings beyond repair these days!). There is a lot of aftermarket parts
available, places to start are
Walkermachine and
Indian Parts
Europe. eBay also has plenty of scout parts come up, the 1920
to 1928 Scouts having parts that are mostly interchangeable. I would also urge
the buyer to join the 101 Scout Association,
as there is much info that applies to these scouts also. Buying Mr George
Yaroki's shop manual is a must,
details here.
click the smaller images for a larger view, please note the spares
photos are in ADDITION to the photos of the bikes and include double ups of most
major engine components etc.
