 I bought this Indian from a friend here in New Mexico. He had bought it in California. He was a close friend of Bob Starks (Starklite). Stark rebuilt the mechanicals in 1970's. (I have receipts). The bike was brought here and about 90% restored when he quit on it. It sat in his yard for about 15 years before I bought it. It had weathered from the sun, but basically was in fair shape. I took it completely apart and renewed everything. I can provide a list and receipts of everything done. The reason the tanks are black (see photos) and the rest of the trim is Indian red is that the former owner left the tanks in the garage after they were completely restored and painted. The Indian head is airbrushed and beautiful, and I didn't want to paint over it. I have enough Indian red paint left if buyer wants to repaint the tanks.
