Frame & eng. #'s match (CDH-2033) - Lot's of those 'hard to get, expensive' parts - No un-restorable parts - No 'previous repair' parts - condition mostly 'as new parts'.

8-) What's Hot: All the hard to find and expensive parts are there including side stand,  center stand, plus near new (if not new) exhaust and headers and so-on right down to linkages and battery frog and footboard cleats.. This one has all the bits that typically get lost when a machine is pulled down and usually 'go missing' from a basket 'in boxes" - geny sprocket,  battery tray, tank caps, damper knob, saddle  yoke.. that sort of thing.

Generally all in excellent restorable order without repairs needed. Dead straight forks matched with good straight unaltered frame with even the center stand lugs still intact!.. Wow. All threaded castings are in good order, i.e. No stripped brake drum spigots, shock castings, fork pinch bolts, steering head threads (bottom tree) etc.

Has excellent barrels and heads, no broken fins, cylinders have had no base flange repairs or have never been re-sleeved, valve faces are not undercut and bores are +25 now so should refinish out to .030 over, the next oversize. Original Motolamp headlight and lense (cracked)
Perfect undamaged engine cases and inner and outer primary and transmission case. I would go as far as saying these items have never been apart since manufacture. Excellent timing gear, lifters, followers, pushrods. correct (tang for 48 alloy oil pump) near perfect front Camshaft, rear is same condition but lobe differs. I have two others that do match but with different shafts that will need pressed out and changed, no big deal.

Gearbox internals need nothing replaced, very little wear. timing chain shows no wear either which  leads to believe this was a true low mileage machine prior to its retirement and some turkey pulling it apart.
It sports straight (true) rims - will re-plate perfectly.   Has rear crash bars, fender bumper and, if I can find them, I recall front crash bars. If a rat rider machine was desired, the engine would not require more than a bottom end check & clean or crankpin freshen up, new pistons, valves and guides (missing) some plumbing and away you ride again, often attracting more interest than a shiny sparkly ride does.
Will be supplied with new tail light, new pedal rubbers, new handgrips, new footboards and beautiful new tan solo saddle!!!  Yes, all sheet metal is there, tool box (with keys), battery tray, geny belt guard included. Has v.good, correct, Linkert 344 carb (complete but for missing needles and float)  Alloy intake elbow (bonneville spec) which is real nice but for a small weld repair in the top most hole which will need to be dressed.

Please note a dark day and camera flash has lead to the photos betraying the condition of some parts like enhancing rust color. I will take better ones in the sunlight outside (weather permitting!)

8-( What's Not: Needs horn, ignition and horn switches, speedo cable, handbrake cable, brake light switch,  oil and gas lines, throttle cables and most UNF/UNC standard fasteners (common off the shelf types).  These are all available as reproduction at reasonable costs. Speedo needs glass and needle and drive unit (which is same as 741 except for 12T fiber gear which I will supply). The only  incorrect  items are 1946 tanks (in very sound cond, i.e won't need separating for repair or panel beating) and bosch generator.
Generator pulleys are missing. Handlebars are a little tweaked and welded in the middle, may straighten,  but likely will need replacement. Front and rear fenders fenders being fiberglass perhaps? but  I don't think so. Needs hollow axles (I think I have a rear or front somewhere) and bearing retainers etc for hubs, again avail no problem. Also needs front brake shoes unless they show up somewhere, Im sure they used to be there somewhere.

Summary: This is surely one of the sweetest basket restorations to be found.  The more I see the quality of the stuff and the 95% completeness of parts (looking past the cosmetic condition in photos, that would clean up in an afternoon), the more I want to keep it!! 8-(
Other parts and engine, gearbox and primary restoration can be facilitated for the successful buyer.
